|ROP: Regional Occupational Program Website
What is ROP?
courses are designed to provide students experience and training that
will give them opportunities to explore classes, and prepare within
broad career pathways. Learning experiences are designed to reinforce
academic skills through applied learning that is career and job related.
Learning takes place not only in the classroom, but also in the
workplace where students develop strong work ethic and employability
skills as they explore careers. Students are engaged in both the
technological and cultural changes that are part of our rapidly changing
Cruz County Office of Education, the California Department of
Education, and state, federal and private grants, fund the program. ROP
is managed from the Santa Cruz County Office of Education with
outreach counselors at each high school. Classes are taught on high
school campuses and high school students generally have first priority
to enroll. Classes may be scheduled within the regular high school
instructional day or in the late afternoons and evenings.
Talk to Sheri Williams, ROP Counselor, in the Harbor High Career Center, if you have questions.
